ACIS Remote Synchronization Agent service failed to start

ACIS Remote Synchronization Agent service failed to start

Postby repij » Mon Jan 22, 2007 8:50 am

Hi,
I have installed Ascent capture server 7.5 and Ascent capture clients. One of client contains ACIS Remote Synchronization Agent service. Client is running on WXP SP2. When I try to start above mentioned service, it always fails with errors:

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the ACIS Remote Synchronization Agent service to connect.

The ACIS Remote Synchronization Agent service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Can You help me ? Why service didn't start ? Thanks

Have you tried running it in the foreground to see what happens?

For that matter, are you sure it's not running in the user space (where it's installed by default) and blocking the service?

Yes, I have tried runing it in the foreground - agent is normally running, with no problems.
In the user space is running only antivirus (NOD32). When I stopped it, service always cannot start.
Service has set Log on as local system account.

I have the same Clients in other cities (the same hardware and software ...) and service doesn't any problems !

Any idea ?

AICS can run in the local service account if the account has full access to the needed files - which is usually the case in a Standalone or if the service is running on server for that site. But if the sync agent is not running on the standalone or on the site server, then it needs to run in a user account.

Also make sure the program has really exited. Sometimes things appear to exit, but a look in Task Manager shows the EXE is still running.

I'd log in with the service login. Then I'd run the Sync Agent manually to see if there are any errors.

Jozef, the error also means, that a timeout occured. Check connectivity between RS & CS....
