There's a good trick in any PHP forum you can use to prevent automatic sign-ups from bots. Set the 'Use Visual Certification' checkmark in the sign-up profile in the Admin section of the forum ... That will prevent all those fake user-id's

Hi!

Just my 2 cents:

1. Disable anonymous posting. Only for registred users.
2. use pictures (of animals for example) instead of capcha images to verify human...
3. to Kofax people - hunt those guys - who write character recognition for bots - down and hire them to write "The Best" OCR/ICR engine, that reads everything :wink:
