VRS Server for Open Architecture systems

Postby r_bliss » Thu Jul 26, 2007 5:59 am

Will there be a release of VRS Server to plug into an Open Architecture system? Currently we do not use Ascent, but do use Indicius and are interested in the possiblilty of applying VRS to our faxes. I am sure some development may be needed to make it work. If VRS could be controlled with simple ISIS tags, adding it wouldn't be as troublesome.

VRS needs a grayscale source image to do it's magic. Last I looked, faxes didn't transmit in grayscale.

RE: KPSG VRS Server in an Open Architecture System

We are currently positioning KPSG VRS Server as a companion to Ascent Capture. Therefore, we do not have any plans for creating a version that will be "standalone" in an Open Architecture configuration.

Russell is correct in that grayscale images are needed to process through VRS Server, with the exception of using its Auto Orientation feature (I recently tested using bitonal and it worked).
