Kofax Desktop V1.00.170.00 Lockup

We have been using Kofax Deskton V1.00.170.00 with VRS 4.50.032. Several weeks ago while scanning the entire PC locked. We were unable to kill the process. When we rebooted the system Kofax Desktop becaue unuseable. Desktop was uninstalled and reinstalled. At this time our Fujitsu fi5530C2 began to run extremely slow. We also then began to receive an error 9905 An unhandled exception was raised in VRS Server. IncesOut of Range exception. Index was outside the bounds of the array. We can no longer scan large documents without receiving this error and the system freezing. I have removed deskton several more times and it works for a short while then the problem returns. I have also removed desktop and VRS and reinstalled both. The PC is an HP dx2300 1.86 gig processor 2 gigs memory and XP SP3.
I am out of ideas. The system worked great now is unstalbe and crashes.
Also scanned machine for viruses and spyware it is clean.
We scan from desktop. Do not have office installed. The only other program installed on the machine is our paperless filing software by questys solutions.

Hello Dennis,

I see in your other post that you are inquiring about version 2.0 of Kofax Desktop.
Has this version been installed on the station at any time?

I did last Friday but removed it because lack of a current key. We had the problem before. I have not tested with version 2

When you uninstalled Desktop, did you also delete the following folders?
(remember to save you license information before doing so)

I am guessing you are running Windows XP. If not, please let me know.
After uninstalling Kofax Desktop from Add/Remove Programs, delete the Kofax Desktop folder in the following path:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kofax\
Also, delete the Kofax Desktop folder from:
C:\program Files\Kofax\

In the Windows registry, delete the following keys:
(be sure to back-up the Registry before following this instruction)
HKey_Local Machine\Software\Kofax\Kofax Desktop
HKey_Current User\Software\kofax\Desktop

Reboot the system and try the installation again, or install version 2.0 if you will be upgrading.

I have completed these steps. the location D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kofax was deleted even though is did not show anytihing about desktop but did contain info on VRS
HKey_Local Machine\Software\Kofax\kofax Desktop did not exist.

I am running XP. I have completed these steps and rebbote the machine
I then reinstalled 1.000.179.
I will let you know status after some heavy use. It may be a couple of days.

How has your installation been running?
Have you spoken to anyone regarding a Kofax Desktop 2.0 upgrade?
