VRS Test Console with imported images

VRS Test Console with imported images

Postby » Sun Jun 12, 2016 8:53 am

I would like to test some image files, 200dpi B&W Tiff, to see if VRS can remove check marks from the data. Note: the originals paper is destroyed, so I must work with what I have.

When I simply import the images into the test console, the scan settings tab is grayed out. In the Administration console, I setup the File Import (with AIPE) as my default scan source, but they do not appear as test console. Is there a way to test these pre-scanned images using VRS to see if it will clean them up?

Thanks,

Todd

Not that I'm aware of.

VRS's strong point is in scanning images to black and white. It does it by scanning everything in grayscale and then using a complex algorithm to convert it to black and white. So, for it to work, VRS must have that original grayscale image.

There might be something that will work with imported grayscale/color, but I think that's a little different product. Typically, VRS is only used with scanners. So to properly test it, you'll need some paper.
