Does Kofax support ISBT 128 barcodes.

"ISBT 128 is a system for identification, labeling and processing of human blood, tissue, and cellular therapy products using an internationally standardized system. The acronym ISBT stands for the International Society of Blood Transfusion. The number 128 reflects the choice of barcode symbology known as Code 128." - Wikipedia

QAID# 2348 "support Code 128. It has three different character sets defined as Code Set A, Code Set B and Code Set C."

Does anyone know which code set is ISBT 128?

If it's C128, I'd expect Kofax to read it with no problems. However, you might have to script some things like breaking it down into it's standard parts.

Hi,

Quite old subject ...
I'm really interested on how you "solve" this ISBT 128 barcode reading.
Actually I'm doing it based on an OCR recognition which far from what expected !
The result is not good and I would like to know if any of you has a solution for this.

Regards

Franck

Have you tried reading it as a Code 128 barcode? Keep in mind, depending on the size of the bars and the scaning DPI, it may not read.

Generally the scan-time barcode reader (available in VRS Professional at levels higher than Desktop) does better than the recognition engine. You can get those results by using the page-level barcode reading.
