Importing Emails with eCopy Attachments

Postby jojesake » Thu Dec 03, 2009 7:11 am

We are using Kofax Capture 8.0, service pack 3, and are auto-importing emails with eCopy attachments from MFPs. The documents are being released to a SharePoint site.
The eCopy attachments open in a separate window from the QC module, and we cannot split multiple documents apart. We don't think we will be able to convince our eCopy generating departments to take the added step of saving the eCopy to a PDF. Is there an update available to the Email Connector or a work-around that will allow us to split the eCopy into separate documents or at least get the attachment to open inside the QC module instead of a separate window?

It sounds like the PDFs are being processed as a eDocument. As such, Kofax will only index the document. it cannot modify it.

Since this is being imported via the eMail connector, I don't know if this will work, but you can try and go into the Batch Class properties, advanced tab and check to see that the box marked "Treat imported PDF files as TIFF images" is checked. If successful, it will render the PDFs as if they were scanned. It will show in QC as normal and you can split the pages.
