Using KIC to filter

Postby » Thu Oct 16, 2014 7:25 am

I would like to use KIC to import certain PDF files that reside in the folder directory.

That I know how to do.

However the folder contains some system files I do not want to import.

Is there a way to configure KIC to only select and import the PDF's?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this was ever answered but, you can do this in a KIC script. Just iterate through the attachments and set the DoImport flag to false on the ones you don't want. Here is an example where we don't want "doc" files to be imported:

Code: Select all
public void BeforeMessageImport(IDictionary<string, string> indexFields,
                        IDictionary<string, string> folderFields,
                        IDictionary<string, string> batchFields,
                        List<Attachment> messageBody,
                        List<Attachment> attachments,
                        object extension)
{

    foreach (Attachment abc in attachments)
    {
        if (abc.Extension.ToLower() == "doc")
        {
            abc.DoImport = false;
        }
    }
}
If they are going to hate you anyway for what you do, then you might as well put forth your best effort.
