Restore of Capture Server fails...

Postby » Thu Aug 13, 2015 12:13 pm

We are running Capture 9.0 on a VM server. Last week I upgraded the Documentum Release script to 8.1 and DFC to 7.2 to test our future upgrade.

The upgrade worked fine and I asked the Admins to restore the original configuration, when I try to Scan I get the following error...

[8088] AcLicImp: Mismatched Machine ID. It is possible that the network card has been changed.
[CLicInterfaceImp::UpgradeEqivalentFeatureLicense] <Server:####>

Any idea how to resolve this issue and why it occurred?

P.S. If I ask the Admins to restore the server to the upgraded version it works fine!!!

Thanks...

Software licenses "attach" the MAC ID as reported by Windows. For some reason, the restore is changing that MAC ID. (That's why the suggestion "It is possible that the network card has been changed.") I don't know VM well enough to know what the tech did, but they need to make sure that all your images have the same MAC address or the Kofax licensing will have a fit.
