force to view 2nd page of a document

force to view 2nd page of a document

Postby HE » Mon Oct 19, 2009 3:36 pm

Hi all,

How can I force INDICIUS Completion to show the second page of a document when I click on the second tab of the template? Often the form to be worked is not the first page of the document, that is to say, I know the page I want to view, but I can not get Completion to load it for more than a second. As soon as I go to a new field the image reverts to the first page in the document, instead of staying in the page where I want it to stay or was at.

Thank you all.

Every field in your Completion template has a "default view area" associated with it. This information includes a page number. If you want a field's default view to be on the 2nd page, change that in Template Editor.

Stephen, thank you. I'll relay the information onto the actual developer working this. That sounded pretty straight forward. Again, thanks.

Thank you, but I don't think I was clear about this use case. I have document sets that contain forms, both english and spanish, that need to be processed in the module, but the users only want to see the forms that have been used. (In other words, if the spanish side of the forms are used - only show those images to the user.)

I am able to determine the side that is filled in and I know the images I want presented, but - of course the image number varies from document to document so setting the page property to 2 for all documents is not a good solution. However, if I could set this property with code on the document load event - that would solve my issue. Is this possible? (I have started working with the image_load(ByRef iDocIndex, ByRef iImageIndex) call, but at this point don't know if I am on the right track.)

When do you know which page you want your field coordinates to be set to? Note that if your image view area is set to "Automatic", then if a field actually exists, the coordinates of that field will always be used in preference to the defaults you set in Template Editor.

If you know by the end of Recognition which page you want your (blank) fields to appear on, you can set things then. Just do a Fields.CreateField to create a new blank field and then Fields.SetCoordinates to set up that field with whatever coordinates you require.

Recognition processes both the english and spanish forms within the document...currently I decide which was populated and use the output from that decision to populate the ascent document values to present to the user in Completion. If I understand what you are suggesting, I need to get the coordinates of the 'populated' form to set the coordinates using Fields.SetCoordinates of the field named the same as the corresponding ascent document value. Currently I am only putting the value into that field, which is causing the problem. Thank you for your help.
