Doc Review Error: Unable to Import selected batch

Doc Review Error: Unable to Import selected batch

Postby » Thu Apr 03, 2008 8:38 am

I am having trouble loading my documents into document review. When I open the batch I get the following error.

"Unable to retrieve document type value from the follownig source:
Document-Level Ascent Storage String "Neurascript.Global.DocumentType".

"Please check that DocumentTypeSource and DocumentTypeSourceName are configured corrctly for the current workflow."

When I open my documents up in QC, they have been separated. I think it is having an issue if a document is not put into a vlaid AC Document or Form. I only have one document type, I am just trying to get seperation from my documents.

Any thoughts would be great, thanks!!

Ok, few things here.

1) This error message means that one or more documents do not have a document type. It also means that you have set up your review project (in Document Review Project Editor) to import document type from "System Document Type". So, one thing to check is whether your separation project (also created in Document Review Project Editor) is set to output document type to this location.

2) Document types aren't automatically mapped to Ascent Form Types/Document Classes unless you select this output option in your separation project. If you have only one document type, there probably isn't much point doing this.

3) Are you using advanced class/sep or rules class/sep? The former won't work with only one document type (and this might be a cause of your problem). But, with only 1 doc type, there's no reason to use advanced; just use rules. You know your document, so you can create accurate, explicit rules to address it.

Make sure that the Separation.drp file has "None" specified for both "Load Document Types from" and "Load Page Types from" under the Input Tab. T-Studio / Project Planner generates an Separation.drp with the Load Page Type from set to System Page Type. Changing this to None solved to error for me.
