TIFF Warning

TIFF Warning

Postby bollingm@saic.com » Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:17 am

I am getting the following warning on some of the images I am processing.

TIFF Warning: \\image path....... : unknown field with tag 33000 (0X80e*) encountered

TIFF \\image path.... 2508x3354 1bit(s) per sample

Just curious what this really "means" and the impact it may have on my classification and or extraction?

Thanks.

You've enabled technical debug messages in your Recognition window (from the drop-down list on the left).

There is no international standard for TIF image tags; this means that any application (for example Recognition) recognises only a subset of the possible number of tags. A warning is recognised whenever Recognition encounters an unknown tag.

This will have no effect on your processing. In fact, unless you've enabled this setting when prompted by a technical support representative for the purposes of debugging an open support case, I suggest setting it back to the default setting ("Errors"), as this information is not useful to you. :)
