serif fonts are not recognised properly

Hi Support,

we are using Indicius Neurascript 4.1.2 version

I have a query and it is as follows

We have issue in Recognition of certain HCFA/UB Claims which has the Strong SERIF FONT.



The Characters like (e.g. L, I, E and T) are not recognizing correctly.



Can you please let us know, if there is anything we can set to get this correctly?

Please provide a solution for the same

Hi Chandru,

Multiple weights files are provided with INDICIUS. It is possible that you are not using the correct weights file, or that the font you are reading (or its printed/scanned representation) is non-standard, and you need to create your own weights file.

Can I ask that you submit this as a query to technical support who should be able to assist you further.

Are you saying that Finereader is working fine with the images? Are you using Abbyy Finereader now or Recostar? Does it satisfy your requirement?

We cannot capture at 300 DPI.
doing so will dramatically impact scaning times

2nd, FineReader OCR does not have any issue with the same image.

Hi Chandru,

Have you tried scanning with different DPI? Does it make any difference?

Good OCR results require resolutions of at least 200 dpi; 300 dpi is preferred. OCR results with lower resolutions or quality may be problematic. In general, you will find that larger characters will yield better results than smaller text as resolution or quality drops.

OCR accuracy may be dramatically improved simply by turning on the "fill line breaks" and "thickening" image processing options. This suggestion may not help for every document, but it should improve your OCR accuracy in a significant number of cases.

I have attached a sample tiff where u can see a field called plan name.

When I Press Plan name I should get 3 different images (3 different tiffs of a Multi page tiff) on the same screen for given template

I figuered this out.



The word was something like



MILLER



I had a remove line option set to something like 80



If you look, LLE were very close and assumeed that the bottom

of the characters were a line - which was removed.



I made some adjustments to this was handled better
