modify text release

modify text release

Postby » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:07 am

I modified the text release with KC9 and tried to add it in the admin module.

I just renamed the dll and change the inf file to reflect the dll change and of course the name.

I get an error when I try to add it:
DllRegister() call failed.

any pointers in what else I need to change would be appreciated!

I don't know why - but Kofax can get away with partial paths in their INF file. But we couldn't do it with our custom one. Try changing your INF file to use a fully qualified path name.

First of all... If you make a new .DLL and copy it to the "c:\Program Files\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin" directory you are not finished at all.

You should first register the .DLL as a COM component using the command line below:

c:\Program Files\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin> c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegAsm.exe your.dll /codebase

Replace your.ddl with you own .DLL name.

You can ignore the warning about unsigned assemblies.

Then add the export module to Kofax Capture using the administration module....

Does this work?

the absolute path and renaming worked.

initially it was corrupting the text release too, but I must have forgotten to rename some of the references to the original text release.
