How to define the XML file name ?

How to define the XML file name ?

Postby » Thu Nov 01, 2012 1:16 am

Hello,

I'm new with Kofax tools.
I'm using Kofax Capture 10.0 and Ascent 7.0 Release Script for XML.

Is it possible to define a customized name for the XML output file ?
I found how to do it for a txt file, but not for the XML.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Best Regards,

Hi!

I suggest You to contact your Kofax representative and ask for KPSG XML release. They have done proper XML release script, not that horrible thing You are trying to use.

I totally agree with Hando. The version 7 XML release thing IMO can be disposed off

Hello,

Thank you for your response.
I don't know this tool "KPSG XML release", but I'm very interested when I see the poor options of Ascent 7.0 Release Script for XML.
Is this tool distributed by Kofax ? Is it included in standard licence or do we need to buy additional licence ?

Indeed, I try to modify the DTD information generated by Ascent Release Script for XML but I can't find an option for this purpose...

Does "KPSG XML release" offer options for formatting the XML output and setting the DTD file ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi!

You have to ask for it from Your Kofax representative. It's something that they have done in KPSG (Kofax Professional Services Group) and that creates decent XML's. It's not available in web unfortunately.
The KPSG XML has XSLT support. And it allows embedding file in XML

I am not familiar with this Export Connector. When did PS write it?

Has anyone seen the source code?
If they are going to hate you anyway for what you do, then you might as well put forth your best effort.

Hi!

The one I have seen is made in december 2011. And no Source code... Only compiled binaries + installer. Full name is "KPSG.ExportConnector.XMLTransform"

You could also check out an export connector I wrote which will allow you to produce XML to any format you require.

Or you could use this one, LINQ to XML Export Connector:
